Ammophila breviligulata, or beach grass do important things to the beach, and in particular the Coastal Habitat Restoration Project. Beach grass builds dunes by capturing blowing sand from the beach. These dunes provide additional protection to sensitive upland areas, preserving habitat for wildlife and plants that call these areas home.

Dune building, this grass will provide additional erosion control as it continues to grow along the project area.
