These shell bags (bagged by Coastal Habitat Restoration Project staff from multiple multi-ton loads of fossilized, sterile mined shell) have been palatalized for eventual use in building the living oyster reef. Some of these bags will be the base of the reef while others will have oyster spat recruited onto them.
